More Than a Festival

The Muddy Run Powwow is a living cultural gathering centered on community, tradition,
respect, and connection.

Throughout the weekend, the event will also help raise awareness of
Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and People (MMIW/MMIP),
honoring those impacted while bringing visibility to an urgent issue affecting Native
families and communities.

dancing, singing, drumming, and cultural celebration. Powwows provide opportunities for
Indigenous people to gather, honor traditions, strengthen community relationships, and
share aspects of their cultures with visitors.

Is the powwow open to everyone?

Yes. Everyone is welcome. Visitors are encouraged to attend with respect,
listen to announcements from the arena, and learn about powwow traditions.

Do I need to be Native American to attend or dance?

No. Anyone may attend. Certain intertribal dances are open to visitors
and will be announced during the powwow.

Is the event indoors or outdoors?

The Muddy Run Powwow is an outdoor, rain-or-shine event.

Should I bring a chair?

Yes. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket
for comfortable seating.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are allowed but must remain leashed at all times, and owners must clean up after them.
Please do not bring aggressive dogs.
