This annual event reflects the Native spiritual belief in the cyclical nature of life and death. It also provides a platform to share ancient narratives that have been preserved through generations\, ensuring our history remains vibrant. \nRecognized officially by the State of Delaware\, the Nanticoke Indian Powwow emphasizes the importance of preserving indigenous cultures and traditions. The event invites both Native and non-native attendees from the local community to join in singing\, dancing\, and connecting with the Creator through rhythmic drumming. Proceeds from the powwow are essential for supporting the daily functions of our community center\, historical museum\, educational scholarships\, weekly food pantry operations\, and elder care programs\, all of which positively influence local communities through a broad range of services. \nIn addition to members of the Nanticoke Indian Tribe\, many other Native American tribes\, along with non-indigenous visitors from across the East Coast\, partake in this annual event.
